It’s been awhile since my last blog. I’ve been unbelievably busy these days that I couldn't find time to squeeze in writing into my schedule. Anyway, I'm back! I had a really wonderful experience yesterday that I can’t wait to share with you, an experience that reminded me once again that in times of great need, God will never forsake us.
Lately, I’ve been swamped with work left and right that leaves me feeling burnout. But what makes things more difficult for me is my personal struggle about something. For personal reason, I have to keep the “specifics” to myself.
Yesterday morning, while praying before the statue of St. Pio at the Lourdes Church in Quezon City, I heard the sound of my mobile phone. It kept ringing so I had to get it after praying and check. It was a text message from my sister in the states. To make the story short, the message was the answer to my lingering concern. I became so emotional. Tears started to flow down my cheeks. God, through the miraculous intercessions of my patron saints St. Pio, and St. Jude, and of course Mama Mary, had heard me even before I ask. I sat for a while and try to contain myself as I couldn’t stop myself from crying. It was tears of joy. My sister is heaven-sent, my angel. God never fails to amaze me.
The other day, I received an unexpected gift from a good friend. It was a holy bible from OMF bookstore, compact size and comes with a really nice neon green case. It was something that I’ve always wanted to buy, a portable one that I can bring with me anywhere. A treasured gift indeed!
My friend told me that the bookstore was on sale. I decided to go after my emotional experience yesterday in the church. There was one book that caught my attention. It was entitled, GOD HAS NEVER FAILED ME, BUT HE’S SURE SCARED ME TO DEATH A FEW TIMES by Stan Toler (Best-selling author of ReThink Your Life). The book is described as a lighthearted look at the challenges that place us in faith’s waiting room. Interesting, isn’t it? But what convinced me more to buy the book was the book’s summary with a heading – WE KNOW THAT GOD IS OUR PROVIDER, then, “We recognize that He is our hope in times of need”, and “Through it all, we’ll discover a God who is always faithful, worthy of our trust, and never late with His help”.
Very timely isn’t it? I’ve just started reading the book and I am enjoying it tremendously! I know for sure it will make a good read. I will talk about it in my next blog as it deserves a longer post.
Do you feel God’s presence in your life? “We must bring the presence of God into our families. And how do we do that? By Praying." – Mother Theresa ♥♥♥
